It’s the first time Abby and Libby have gotten together since they both got out of the hospital. Will Alex interfere with their girl talk?
That’s all for tonight everyone! Thanks once again to Stacey and our writers. Everybody remember to stay safe tomorrow night, and don’t fall for any tricks! Unless you get the treats too!
“He had been planning to join Manly, the glamour club from Sydney’s northern beaches whose former forward Steve Menzies was a team-mate at Bradford last season and constantly in his ear, until he received a call on his mobile in late July. “We were down in Wales playing Celtic Crusaders and I was getting a massage when the ePhone went,” he recalls, revealing that he almost hung up when the caller introduced himself as “Russell – Russell Crowe from South Sydney”.”
Russell as Maximus in Gladiator is featured on one of the ten different “Icons of the Decade” covers of Empire Magazine. The other covers featured are:
Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn in “Lord of the Rings”
Daniel Craig as James Bond
Matt Damon as Jason Bourne
Uma Thurman from “Kill Bill Vols 1 & 2″
Heath Ledger as the Joker from “The Dark Knight”
Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter
Simon Pegg from “Shaun of the Dead”
Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
“Redistributional politics may be perilous political turf, but with yet another Robin Hood mega-film due out next year (the director Ridley Scott’s version, starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett), it’s clear Americans can’t get enough of the guy.”
Great video clip from Glasswerk magazine with the new single “Wish I’d Been Here” from her album Calling All Magicians. Love this song! The single debuts in the UK on October 26th.
Here’s a link to a brief news video of Pittsburgh Channel 4, WTAE’s coverage of the fender bender involving Russell, Elizabeth Banks, and the Pittsburgh Fire Department.
Seems the van in which Russell and Elizabeth Banks were in while shooting a scene got hit by a fire truck! It’s good to know that everyone involved is okay!
Here’s a sample of the new set photos or Russell on “The Next Three Days” set in Pittsburgh. You can view them all at the New Russell Pics page. Don’t forget to click on the thumbnails for larger versions.
Over at Libriscrowe, our own Jo tells the tale of spending the day as an extra on the set of Russell’s film, The Next Three Days, as only Jo can tell it! You’ll laugh! You’ll cry! You’ll be breathless! It’s almost as good as a Russell film! Jo’s daughter, Laura, also spent the day as an extra in Jo’s story and another Crowe fan, Cheryl, makes a cameo appearance! Check it out here:
Liam Neeson (Taken) has joined “The Next Three Days,” a thriller directed by Paul Haggis, the man behind the Oscar-winning film “Crash.”
“Three Days” began photography last Friday, with Russell Crowe playing a teacher whose wife (Elizabeth Banks) is arrested for a gruesome murder she says she didn’t commit. Several years of incarceration leaves her suicidal and he plots to break her out. Neeson plays an ex-con who has broken out of jail multiple times, has written a book about it, and shows the teacher how it’s done.
Russell continues his spirit of giving by having a prop from Robin Hood given to the Clanranald Trust, a battle re-enactment group in Scotland. According to the BBC:
The Clanranald Trust’s chief executive officer, Charlie Allan, became friends with Russell when he portrayed a German warrior in Gladiator. Be sure to visit their website, which is fascinating and educational.
Our own Jo, who has her very own Crowe site over at Libriscrowe, as well as writing for Russell Crowe Fan Fiction and The Glen, has been chosen as an extra for ! The Next Three DaysHer daughter, Laura, will be appearing as an extra with her mom. They will be filming starting on Tuesday, Oct. 6th. This is exciting news for all of us at RCFF and we’ll keep you posted with news from Jo and Laura!
If you live in the Pittsburgh area and are interested, Mosser Casting is still casting extras for work in the film. Go to their blog at the link below for the number to their casting office.
This is Libby and, once again, it’s time for your Glen Times update. If there’s a theme for tonight’s issue, it would have to be ‘Comings and Goings‘. Terry Thorne, Dominic Maloney, and Sid’s brother, Bar Harbor, are coming to the Glen. Other residents are entering or exiting new relationships. And, as always, some residents are not sure which they’re doing! LOL! So, settle back and see what’s going on right now.
We catch up with Dom, who’s back in the Glen and wondering if Colin can still use him at the garage. Seems Dom just might need some money for, uh…a few unexpected expenses!
Bud’s facing some forced time away from the job because of Dwayne’s shooting. He’s planning to spend it working on the new business with Zack. Or will Jessica need more protecting?
Jimmy and Johnny are discussing the women in their lives, and the Glen’s proposed new business. Seems neither one of them is ready to change jobs any time soon!
Upset after her meeting with Richie, Toni goes to the house with Travis to get some of her things. Packing up her former life is a painful thing, but Travis knows how to make her feel better.
Abby’s getting out of the hospital but, still feeling guilty, she drops in to see Alex Ross before leaving. Seems she’ll be staying at Millie’s for the time being, but will she end up staying in Alex’s room?
And that’s the news in our little community for tonight. Thanks to all those who make the updates possible (you know who you are). And remember, you read it here, not in that rag Alex Ross is peddling!
